Want to learn to sew?
This is an after school or weekend course for kids!
We will teach you everything you need to get started.. You’ll learn how to thread the machine, wind the bobbin, adjust
tension, change needles, and troubleshoot. You’ll sew straight lines, turns, curves and backstitching. Also, you’ll
learn about sewing techniques like seam allowances, grain lines, pinning, and ironing for projects. After this class you’ll
be set for any of our make it: workshops.
If you are a true beginner this course is prerequisite
to all other make it: workshops for kids and kids open workshop time

In this summer workshop you’ll gain insight into the fast paced world of fashion and
learn how to turn your ideas into garments!
Project designers will learn:
*how to conceptualize your designs and start your portfolio
*basic pattern alteration and simple adjustments to create your design

to cut, sew and make one of your designs

Wanna learn to sew but don't have
time to do a whole session? Wanna just come in and test the waters before you buy a machine ?
This quick 2 hour workshop will get you started and teach you the basics that you'll use in our
other make it workshops!
You will learn: the names to the parts
of the sewing machine, what they do and practice using them.
You
will learn to thread the machine and a bobbin. You will practice different stitches used
for differrent fabrics. Learn to straight stitch, back tack , sew curves, pivots etc.
